Ron Keith Looney, 81 of Raccoon, Ky. was born on March 28, 1942 at Ferrells Creek, Ky. and passed away on April 28, 2023 in the Pikeville Medical Center. He was the son of James and Onie Cavins Looney who preceded him in death. Ron was a coal miner and a member of the Thomas C. Cecil Masonic Lodge in Pikeville and a El Hasa Shrine member. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Deborah Saunders, brothers; Howard Murphy, Van Ratliff, Eulean Looney, and Billy Gene Looney, sisters; Marie Ratliff, Betty Jane Thacker and Barbara Sue Bartley. Survivors are daughters; Ronda Merritt of Elkhorn City and Carnetta (Rob) Coleman of Knoxville, TN., a brother; James Looney of Ashcamp, sisters; Shelma Adkins of Ashcamp, Jewelene Adams of Elkhorn City, Adrienne Swiney of Draffin and Lucille Coleman of Draffin, grandchildren; Terra Stewart and Emily Coleman and a great-grandchild; Alayna Stewart. Visitation will be in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023. A Masonic service will be conducted at 6: 30 PM on Sunday by the Thomas C. Cecil Lodge of Pikeville, Ky. and Dale Senters will have a service at 7:00PM. The funeral service will be on Monday, May 1, 2023, 11:00 AM in the chapel with Dale Senters officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park in Pikeville, Ky.
