Bobby “Chippy” Simpson, 79

Bobby Earl “Chippy” Simpson, 79 of Hellier, KY passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at his residence. Bobby was a retired coal miner, an Army Reservist and a member of the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church.

Bobby was born May 29, 1945 in Hellier, KY to the late Ray Simpson and Verna Bowens Simpson. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Wayne Simpson, brothers, Kenneth, Linville “Bo”, Roger and Larry Simpson and a sister, Eileen Anderson.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Arnetta Gibson Simpson of Hellier, KY; s son, Mike (Lisa) Simpson of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Michelle Sturgill, Michael Simpson, Jr., Jacob Simpson, Kayla Simpson, Brady Simpson and Marissa Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Cailey Sturgill, Colton Simpson, Macie Simpson, Keegan Sturgill, Kelsy Sturgill, Macyn Chaney, Mylee Holbrooks, Bryson Holbrooks, Kylee Combs, Fisher Case, Paislee Johnson, Kamree Johnson, Jaxslynn Johnson.

Visitation will be after 6PM Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2PM from the church with Jimmy Dean Looney and others officiating. Burial will follow at Annie E Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
