Curtis Ray Swiney, 91
Curtis Ray Swiney, 91 of Ashcamp, KY passed away Monday, March 03, 2025 at his residence. Curtis was a retired coal miner for Beth-Elkhorn Mine #25, a member of the UMWA, Ashcamp Church of Christ and Founder of Sycamore Fire Dept. He was born April 29, 1933 at Praise, KY to the late Henry Swiney and Orpha Cantrell Swiney. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by one son, Tony Curtis Swiney, four brothers, George Ratliff, Raymond Swiney, Glen Swiney & Jimmy Swiney and sisters, Ollie Ratliff Hunt, Eulean Anderson, Bessie Henry & Lucille Tostin; and son-in-law, Harold Dean Rowe.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Alma Rose Swiney of Ashcamp, KY; a daughter, Rejeana Rowe of Phyllis, KY; daughter in law, Peggy Lynn Swiney of Ashcamp, KY; four grandchildren, Ryan Swiney, Terri Caldwell, Heather Hackney & Curtis Rowe; great-grandchildren, Destiny Johnson, Liberty Richards, Victory Richards, Trinity Richards, Braydon Swiney, Brylon Swiney, Caleb Gibson, Gavan Rowe, Storm Caldwell, Carter Rowe, Marcie Rowe & Remi Rowe; great-great-grandchild, Ellie Gibson.
Visitation will be from 6-10PM Saturday, March 08, 2025 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 09, 2025 at 2PM from the chapel with Shawn Wallace and Doug Ramey officiating. Burial will follow a the Rose Family Cemetery, Jacksons Branch, KY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
