McArthur Swiney, 82 of Draffin, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center. McArthur was a retired coal miner.

McArthur was born April 12, 1943 to the late James Swiney and Caroline (Coleman) Swiney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Francis (Martin) Swiney, two brothers; Johnny and Gobel Swiney, and four sisters; Anna Rae Dotson, Irene Ward, Lola Clevinger, and Ruth Bryant.

McArthur is survived by one daughter; Laura Ray of Elkhorn City, KY., one son; David McArthur Swiney of Elkhorn City, KY. , and one sister; Patricia Belcher of Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Ashley, Jonathon, Zachary, Taylor and Sydney as well as ten great grandchildren: Peyton, Madison, Jaden, Lena, Kadence, Lauren, Maysin, Liam, Emerson, and Atlas.

Visitation will be from 6 - 10 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 01, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Bailey Funeral Home chapel with David Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
