Walter Harley McClanahan, 88

Harley McClanahan, 88 of Elkhorn City, Ky. was born on May 3, 1933 in Elkhorn City, Ky. and passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at his home. He was the son of Frank and Flossie Carol McClanahan. Harley was a member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church, a Korean War veteran, and a coal miner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by -sisters; Virginia Carol, Tennessee Mullins, Virgie Anderson and Louise Waters, a half brother; Jim Blott and 3 great-grandchildren. Survivors are his wife; Joyce, 3 sons; Cecil, Victor and Charles Edward McClanahan all of Elkhorn City, KY; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-10:00PM on Sunday, June 20, 2021 and funeral services will be held in the chapel on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 2:00 with Scottie Tackett & Bill Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkhorn City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the funeral fund with Bailey Funeral Home.

    My deepest prayers and sympathies to the family on your great loss. I have great memories of Harley, Joyce and all the family. I grew up with them east end Elkhorn City some of my best childhood friends. May the Lords peace comfort all of you and be with in the future.

    My brother Doug and I used to play with Charles all the time .We lived in the middle house on Elkhorn street they lived in end one. Joyce and Hartley were always good to us we would go see if Charles could come out and play and his mom (Joyce) would say after you eat so we’d wait on him and go play together I am so sorry to hear about Hartley I will keep you in my prayers
