Edith Kathleen Owens Bertrand, 76 of Belcher, KY passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the home of her son. Edith was a member of the Ferrells Creek Church of God and a retiree after 44 years with Magic Mart. Edith was born March 18, 1943 at Belcher, KY to the late Nelson Owens & Myrtie Ratliff Owens. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Bertrand, six brothers, Julian, Paul Louie, Chester, James Thomas, Ben & Charles Owens and three sisters, Tressie Lester, Edna Chaney & Opal Owens. Edith is survived by a son, Rodney Owens of Belcher, KY and a daughter, Stacey (J.D.) Spake Lambert of Mt. Sterling, KY; and five grandchildren, Zachary Owens, Alissa Owens, Trey Lambert, Reagan Lambert & Meyona Fowler. Edith is also survived by one brother, Vergil (Linda) Owens of Belcher, KY and one sister, Pebble Justice of Pikeville, KY. Visitation will be held from 6-10PM Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 1, 2019 at 1PM from the chapel with David Campbell & Jennings Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, Draffin, KY.
Aunt Edie was as beautiful inside as she was outside. She always had a smile and a hug for us. We love her and the family and will miss her.
I was blessed to work with Edith at Magic Mart many years ago. She was a great leader and a great listener always willing to help anyone. She will be greatly missed by many. Prayers for the family
