Shirley Bee, 71

Shirley Bee, 71 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. Shirley was born June 7, 1947 at Ashcamp, KY to Pearl Gibson and the late Bennett Gibson. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one sister, Coleen Hamilton. Besides her mother, Shirley is survived by one son, Shawn Helton of Elkhorn City, KY; one grandchild, Megan Helton; and fiance, J.D. Hawkins. Shirley is also survived by one brother, Stephen Gibson of Ashcamp, KY and two half-sisters, Jessie Pate & Joann Boight. Visitation will be from 6-10PM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2PM from the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Gibson & Dave Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Cook Cemetery, Ashcamp, KY.

    I imagine there is no pain deeper than losing a child. My Mamaw has lost both of her daughters in less than a month. My heart and prayers go out to her at this most difficult time. Shawn and Megan, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother and grandmother. I am praying that your faith will give you strength in this sad time. I love you all.

    My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy and love for all. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make it to the funeral but I’ll be in this week end to hopefully help comfort My dear aunt Pearl and Shawn. May god and his angels put their arms around you all. Shirley will surly be missed by many . I know my heart is breaking.
