Mrs. Gleda Fern (Bartley) Hall of Burkesville, Ky. passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at her home in Burkesville, Ky., having attained the age of 71 years, 9 months and 11 days. She was born in Ashcamp, Pike, County, Ky. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1946, the daughter of Hustler and Imogene (Francisco) Bartley. She was a member of the Grider United Methodist Church in Burkesville, Ky. and a school teacher for 20 years in the Cumberland County School System in Burkesville, Ky. She attended Pikeville College, received her undergraduate degree from Clinch Valley College in Wise, Va., and received her masters of education degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowlling Green, Ky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hall, her brothers, Kermit Bartley, Clinnard Bartley, and Kemper Bartley, and her brother-in-law, Barney Coleman. She is survived by her husband, Bernard Hall of Burkesville, Ky., whom she wed on Thursday, March 3, 1966, her sons, Jerry Wayne (and Tammy) Hall of Burkesville, Ky. and Bernard Clay”Bernie” Hall II of Barren County, Ky.., her sisters, Barbara Coleman of Pikeville, Ky., and Alva Mae (and Victor) Smith of Louisville, Ky.,, 2 grandchildren, Elijah Daniel Bartley Hall and William Christopher Monroe Hall, her step- granddaughter, Michelle ( and Ben) King, her step-great-granddaughter, Everleigh Reiss King, plus a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Ky., Burial will be in the Grider Memorial Cemetery in Burkesville, Ky., The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
