David Morton, 55 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at the King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. David was born October 23, 1960 in Pikeville, KY to the Truman Joel Morton & Betty Damron Morton. Besides his parents David is survived by is wife, Melster Lou “Ludy” Morton of Elkhorn City, KY, one son, Gary Collins of Belcher, KY, one daughter, Kimberly Lowe of Pikeville and two grandchildren, Lanna Michele & Riley Peyton Collins. David is also survived by four brothers, Ricky Morton, Eddie “Tiny” Morton, Randy Morton & Robert Morton and three sisters, Debbie Morton, Diana Long & Jenny Wallace. Visitation will be after 6PM Wednesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Ferrells Creek Church of Christ, Belcher, KY. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 24, 2016 at 1PM from the church with Billy Ford, Jim Ed Belcher & Jimmy Dean Looney officiating. Burial will follow at the Dow Brooks Cemetery, Draffin, KY.
SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DAVIDS PASSING. HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND OF MINE. WHILE I WAS MINISTER AT FERRELLS CREEK I HAD TIME TO KNOW HIM AND THE FAMILY. I LOVE YOU ALL. MAY GOD CONFORT AND GUIDE YOU IN THE DAYS AHEAD.

I really don’t know what to say , I’m usually not at a loss for words but the passing of David has me in shock !! He was always joking and having a good laugh ! I am truly going to miss him ! I’m sooo sorry Ludy for your and your families loss !!
