Al Sifers, 85

Alvin “Al” Sifers, 85 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his residence. Al worked at Elkhorn Stone as a heavy equipment operator and owned/operated Daramars restaurant before retiring. He was born January 13, 1939 in Elkhorn City, KY to the late Rudolph Sifers and Clara Clevinger Sifers. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Raymond, Jimmy, Orville, and Homer Sifers and sisters, Ival Potter and Effie Hamilton and a step-son, David (Sandy) Ratliff.

Al is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Ratliff Sifers of Elkhorn City, KY; step-children, Timothy (Jequita) Ratliff of Clintwood, VA, Mark Ratliff of Lexington, KY, Darron (Fredia) Ratliff of Elkhorn City, KY, Beverly (Ken) Bales of Nicholasville, KY and Teresa (Ben) Epling of Regina, KY; grandchildren, Keaggy Ratliff, Cody Ratliff, Alex Ratliff, Dana Cronkhite, Stevie West, Matt Epling, Nic Epling, Bemedji Epling, Jacob Ratliff, Andrew Ratliff, Adam Ratliff, Hannah Billiter, and Katie Ratliff; great-grandchildren, Reese David, Lindy, Ashlyn, Colton, Lucy, Penny, Jolie, Callen, Emryn, Evan, Gavin, Eleanor, Elliott, Parker, Lilith and Teagan.

Visitation will be from 6-9PM Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a song and prayer service at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11AM from the chapel with Scottie Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Childers Cemetery, Ashcamp, KY.

In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Elkhorn City First Church of God.

    Mary Lou, Larry and I just want you know how sorry for the loss. You and Al had a true love story. There again if someone couldn’t love you something was wrong. We have been gone along time but I hold my church in EC close.
