John was a man of principle. He lived by his principles and did not waver. He was steadfast in his beliefs about life and how to live it. He lived his life his life how he saw fit. He didn’t bend to what was popular or what other thought. He did not compromise his convictions for any reason.
John was a mild mannered a reliable friend. You could count on him. He would never let you down, and never did me in 20 years. He wouldn’t back down from anything hard that life had to throw at him. He met his challenges head on and didn’t make excuses. He respected others opinion, in turn he expected his to be respected. You were not going to win an argument with John. The best you could hope for is a truce. He was ok with that, but wasn’t going to conform for you. He loved his dogs and his family. He spoke often in a tone of affection for his mother and respect for his father and brother. His great love in his life was his ex-wife Haley, with whom he spoke with often. A person never had to wonder where they stood with John. If he had something to say, he would say it. He was a serious person. When he laughed, it was something worth the smile he would give. The laugh made it that much better to everyone around him. He was a proud second amendment advocate, as could be seen by his hip on most days. Things like a good plate of Mexican food, a drink in the evening, and a trip to the river gave him his pleasures. It will be difficult to adjust to life without John. I will miss the sound of keys jingling, sharing one our many meals, the great conversations, the knowing he will be there tomorrow to help me along another day. He will be greatly missed

Perfect wording. A hard working man who loved his family, his dogs and me. My heart will be forever changed because of the love he has given me the past 14 years. Through everything I went to I could always count on Johnny Mack to be there to help. My heart will not ever be the same. I wish that things was not this way.

I have our babies. And as long as I have breath in my lungs I will make sure every single day our babies never have to go without and they will NEVER EVER forget about poppa. We love you forever Johnny Mack Cantrell. Until the day I get back to you, I’ll never let your memories we have made die. I am so forever changed because of you and your love.
