George “Fonso” McCown, 85 of Lookout, KY passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center. Fonso was born December 15, 1929 at Sycamore, KY to the late Elster McCown & Minnie Smith Ramey. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one grandchild & one great-grandchild. Fonso is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Bartley McCown of Lookout, KY, one son, George David McCown of Lookout, KY and three daughters, Nancy Slone of Lookout, KY, Julia Duty of Henry Clay, KY and Debbie Holbrooks of Lookout, KY. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be after 6PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with services nightly at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 12PM from the chapel. Burial will follow at the Martha Johnson Cemetery, Hellier, KY.
So many wonderful memories of Fonzo on Henry Clay Hill. Loved this old man dearly! May he be out in the hills pick in’ berries in heaven!
