Buddy Matney, 70 of Regina, Ky. was born on Dec. 21, 1952, at Grundy, Va. and passed away at UK Healthcare in Lexington, Ky. on July 25, 2023. He was the son of Nelson and Josie Matney who preceded him in death. Lonnie was a member of the Faith First Baptist Church and a truck driver for the gas industry. He is survived by his wife; Katherine Matney of Regina, Ky., daughters; Shelly (Ron) Chaney of Shelbiana, Ky, April (Ben) Bartley of Pikeville, Ky. and Melissa (B.J.) Salmons of Grundy, Va., grandchildren; Jacob and Zachary Chaney, and Miley Salmon and a great- grandchild; Hadley Chaney. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM on Thursday, July 27 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 8:00 AM-10:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023 with a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 AM, July 29, 2023, with Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Dow Brooks Cemetery at Draffin, Ky.
