Rodney Gene Matney, 67 of Rutledge, TN passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. Rodney was born February 24, 1948 in Pike County, KY to the late Woodrow Wilson Matney & Cordia Sawyers Matney. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Blake Matney. Rodney is survived by his wife, Wanda Pugh Matney of Rutledge, TN and one daughter, Stephanie Adams of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by two brothers, Woodrow Matney, Jr. of Barling, AR & Donald Lee Matney of Elkhorn City, KY and three sisters, Sheila Miller of Feds Creek, KY, Olive Thacker of Lick Creek, KY & Wanda Matney of Winchester, KY. Visitation will be after 6PM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 & Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with services nightly at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 27, 2015 at 12PM from the chapel with Arnold Adams officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
