Robert “Bill” Lester, 80

Robert “Bill” Lester, 80 of Belcher, KY passed away at Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was a member of Elkhorn City Baptist Church, a Gideon member, a Vietnam Veteran, a retired school psychologist, and a college professor.

He was born on December 29, 1942, to the late Lancer and Kelsie Rowe Lester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Skeens.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erma May Lester of Belcher, KY; one son, Robert Lancer (Beverly)  Lester of Elkhorn City, KY; two grandchildren, Emily M. Lester, and Aiden M. Lester; one sister, Mary Lou Kendrick of Belcher, KY; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be between 6PM and 10PM Saturday, March 18 at Bailey Funeral Home with a service Saturday at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19 at 2PM with  Richard Greene officiating with entombment to follow at J. U. Thacker Mausoleum, Pikeville, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to Elkhorn City Baptist Church.

    I loved Robert (Bill) lester ! I got to know him at Dialysis! He always ask us about our family! How was my kids and grandchildren! We would come back out from lunch, he wanted to know what we had for lunch! The tech that took care of him Rebecca Hopkins loved him dearly, Bill loved her dearly! She always had him laughing or arguing with him! Robert will be missed by all of us girls!
