Roger Sykes, 78 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. Roger was born September 17, 1940 at Splashdam, VA to the late Bill Sykes & Maxine Worshum Sykes. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one son, Steven Roger Sykes and a brother, Donald Sykes. Roger is survived by his wife of 58 years Lynda Moore Sykes; one son, Gary Michael (Cindy) Sykes; two granddaughters, Olivia Michelle Sykes & Marissa Danielle Sykes all of Elkhorn City, KY. Roger is also survived by one brother, Tommy Sykes; a sister-in-law, Vicki Adkins; two brother-in-laws, Johnny Moore & Greg Moore all of Elkhorn City, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 6-10PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a Masonic service at 6PM and evening service at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2PM from the chapel with Jim Ed Belcher & Frank Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Dow Brooks Cemetery, Draffin, KY.
