Christopher Bartley, 53

Christopher Wyatt Bartley, 53 of Belcher passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 at his residence. Chris was born July 4, 1961 in Pikeville, KY to Ora Jean Mullins Bartley and the late Kermit Bartley. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his sister, Kermetta Dotson. Chris is survived by his wife, Julia Hogston Bartley of Belcher, KY, son, Christopher Matthew Bartley of Carrollton, KY, daughter, Hale Michele Bartley of Bowling Green, KY and two step-sons, Adam Ratliff of Hurlburt Field, FL and Jacob Ratliff of Belcher, KY. He is also survived by one brother, Danny Bartley of Carrollton, KY and two step-grandchildren. Visitation will be after 6PM Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services conducted at 7PM.

    A dear friend of mine. We played football together at Elkhorn City High School. I nicknamed Chris “Ollie Ray” . Chris was a great person and leader of our team. My heart is saddened about his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris’s family.

    Julie, we are so very sorry for your loss. I remember speaking to Chris the day you all were leaving for South Carolina. I am so glad you were able to enjoy the trip together and spend time with Jill and her family. I pray The Lord will give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. Chris was a very nice man.     Words cannot express how so sorry I am for your loss!! CB, as I called him, was a great person whom I had the pleasure of knowing and was always a good friend!! He was always smiling and joking with everyone!! I pray for comfort and peace for the family as you go this trying time! God Bless!!

    Sending prayers to Matt and Hale in your time of sorrow. My God heal your broken hearts. Your dad was my foreman when I first started working at OVA. Sorry couldn’t make it to visitation. Just know that I am thinking about all the Bartley family in this sad time.
