Lois Jean Ramey, 86 of Richmond, Ky. passed away Dec. 14, 2017 in her home. She is the daughter of Reggie “Shilo” Slone and Flora Hackney Slone. Lois was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Richmond and she was a homemaker. She was born on Aug. 2, 1931 at Belcher, Ky. Lois was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her husband; Robert Mason Ramey, son; Robert Michael(Renee) Ramey of Trenton, Mi., daughter; Susan Camille(Gary) Pettyjohn of Richmond, brothers; Charles Ray Slone of Proctorville, Ohio, Benny(Beulah) Slone of Sidney, Ky. and Danny(Jenny) of Pikeville, sisters; Patricia Jo Belcher of Elkhorn City and Jewell Kay Elswick of Pikeville, Grandchildren; Robert M.(Lindsey)Ramey), Steven Wayne(Allison) Pettyjohn, Melissa Kay(Steve)Norris, Heidi Camille(Matt)Barrett and Cameron Jacob Pettyjohn, great grandchildren; Bradley Ramey, Brooklynn Ramey, Parker Elisabeth Pettyjohn, Murphy Grace Pettyjohn, Hope Kay Norris, Elliott Royce Barrett and Sarah Francis Barrett. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, 11:00 from the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Pettyjohn officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00PM on Monday. Lois was a beautiful person. Those who did not get the privilege of knowing her missed out on one of God’s gifts to those she came in contact with. I will always remember the meals she prepared for me. The best soup beans and cornbread you ever tasted, by the way. My sympathies go out to all of her family, especially Bob and Camie.
Am sorry to learn of Lois Ramey. My Sympathy to Bob and the family. We were good friends in Huntsville Alabama and because of our moves, we lost contact with the Ramey family. Lois was such a fine Christian , wife and Mother. It is such a loss for the family.
