Toby Akers, 63 of Ivel, KY passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 03, 1953 to the late John Akers and Christine Elam Akers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Tobie Jo, 2 brothers, Riley Carl and William Roger. He was a Federal Mine Inspector by occupation. He was a member of the VFW.
Toby is survived by his wife, Debra Joan Little Akers, a son, Ernest James of Regina, a daughter, Tobie Beth of Shelbiana, KY, brothers, Johnny Lee(Bea) of Flaherty, KY and Andy Blake of Taylorsville, KY, sisters, Beatrice Darlene (Johnny) Martin of Lawrence, KY, Vera Jo(Ronnie) Kiser of Flaherty, KY, Ellen Lavern(Ricky) Anderson of Lexington and Debra Denise Faevel of Hardin County, KY, and Grandchildren, Zachary Tyler Clevinger, Eden Chevelle Little/Rose, Alyssa Grace Akers, Annabella Jolene Akers, Ernest James “E.J” and Maleah Joella Rae Lange.
Services will be held at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Monday at 11:00 with Richard Gibson and John Akers officiating. Visitation will be from 6-10:00PM on Sunday at the chapel. DAV services will be conducted by Elkhorn City Chpt. 140 on Monday.
