Madeline Joyce Spriggs Sykes, 78 of Chesapeake, OH formerly of Marrowbone, KY passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Paris, KY. Joyce was born March 7, 1938 at Alleghany, KY to the late Hobart Spriggs & Fannie Dotson Hopson. Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Sykes. Joyce is survived by one son, Joe T. (Jennifer) Sykes, Jr. of Paris, KY and one daughter, Pamela (Randy) Wood of Chesapeake, OH; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Keat Spriggs of Orlando, FL and three sisters, Anna Rae Turner of McDowell, KY, Maryetta Edmondson of Tacoma, WA and Bertha Williamson of Winchester, KY. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 11Am-1PM at the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church, Marrowbone, KY. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1PM from the church. Burial will follow at Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville, KY.

Joyce was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was the lunch lady when I went to school at Lookout , then my BINGO Buddy at Marrowbone Firedepartment. Where I called games and sold pull tabes. Joyce was one of a kind . God Bless and Comfort you all.
