Freddie Arlin Hylton, 83 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Wednesday, February 05, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center. Freddie was born May 22, 1941 in Elkhorn City, KY to the late Grayson and Iowa Wallace Hylton.
In addition to his parents, he was also so preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Hylton who died August 18, 2004; brothers, Bobby Gene Hylton, Herbert Lee Hylton & Danny Michael Hylton; and sisters, Geraldine Nugent, Betty France, Emilea Cornett, and Rosemary & Roberta who passed in infancy.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene Rowe Hylton of Elkhorn City, KY; daughter, Amy Denice (Mrs. Bobby Dewaine) Stiltner and grandson, Dalton Kyle (Sylvia) Simpson all of Elkhorn City, KY; brother, Grayson (Brenda) Hylton, Jr. of Ashcamp, KY and sister, Helen “Patsy” Smith of Cleveland, OH.
Freddie was an avid NASCAR fan (Go Jimmy Johnson) and; UK Fan (more so when they were winning); he loved drag racing and fishing (he belonged to Elkhorn City Bass Men Club at one time). In later years he could sit for hours watching the Western Channel on TV with his dog, Pete, by his side and working Search a Word puzzles & taking Pete for rides in the golf cart and his truck.
Freddie held several jobs in his lifetime: made timbers, for mines, was a dozer operator, logged, and hauled scrap metal; and owned Hellier Fuel Coal Mines for several years. Always said his favorite job was logging, loved to be in the mountains.
Visitation will be from 6-10PM Friday, February 07, 2025 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service at 7PM with Scottie Adkins officiating.
