Blake Blevins, 83

Blake B. Blevins, 83 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center.

Blake was born June 24, 1941 in Baxter, KY to Juanita Senter Blevins and the late John Blevins, Jr. In addition to his father, Blake was preceded in death by a sister, Rhea Etta Brooks. He was gravel truck owner/operator and a member of the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church.

Blake is survived by his wife, Brenda Bowling Blevins of Elkhorn City, KY; a son, Michael (Debbie) Blevins of Elkhorn City, KY; step-children, Todd Clevinger of Lick Creek, KY and Trina Childers of Elkhorn City, KY; five grandchildren, Alyssa (Jordan) Coleman, Courtney Blevins, Savannah Childers, Connor Clevinger and Grant Childers; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Coleman, Xavier Childers, Reagan Childers and Elaina Pearl Childers; and a nephew, Christopher Brooks.

Visitation will be from 6-10 PM Saturday, October 26 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, October 27 at the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church with services nightly at 7 PM. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2024 at 2 PM from the church with Michael Richey, Richard Gibson, Oscar Damron and Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville, KY.

    Sorry to hear of Blake’s passing. He was a jolly, kind and wonderful friend to know. I enjoyed working with him at the stone company. He will be greatly missed.

    He was a great man he is the one that started my brother’s and me in the mines and he is a man that was always happy and smiling and if something was bothering you he would sit and listen to you that’s why he was well loved in his neighborhood.
