Gene Arnett Stanley, 86 of Wellington, KY formerly of Draffin, KY passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the home of his son. Gene was a retired coal miner, a US Army Veteran, and a member of the Church of the Brethern. He was born on February 02, 1936, at Weeksbury, KY to the late William Heanon Stanley and Kansas Phipps Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Compton Stanley, one grandson, Michael Thomas Sykes, two brothers, Billy Stanley & Jackie Clayton Stanley, and three sisters Naomi Senters, Christine Austin & Ruth May. Gene is survived by one son, Timothy Arnett Stanley of Jackson, KY; a daughter, Alison Lynn Cloyd of Paris, KY; six grandchildren, Jonathan Stanley, Joseph Reed Sykes, Kevin Joshua Cloyd, Jodi Evette Brewer, Stephanie Lynn Davis & Brittany Paige Nichols; nine great-grandchildren, Natalie Marie Wade, Kayden Lynn Paige Davis, Isabella Evette Brewer, Landon Ty Brinegar Stanley, Tristin Gene Cloyd, Charleigh May Nichols, Hadleigh Harper Marie Davis, Austin Payne Nichols, and Madelyn Michael Sue Davis. Gene is also survived by one brother, Kenith Ray Stanley of Wellington, KY, and two sisters Lorraine Thomas of Kettlecamp, KY, and Sharon Kay Kelly of Florence, KY. Visitation will be from 6-10 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 11 AM from the Chapel with Rev. Ted Beam officiating. Burial will follow at Dow Brooks Cemetery, Draffin, KY.
