James “Freddy” Overstreet, 74

James Fredrick “Freddy” Overstreet, 74 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at UKMC Hospice Center. Freddy was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Sweet Home Old Regular Baptist Church, the NRA and the Elkhorn City DAV Chapter #140. Freddy was born November 22, 1945 at Dunleary, KY to the late Fredrick Harrison Overstreet & Barbara Ellen Puckett Overstreet. In addition to his parents, Freddy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McKinney Overstreet and two brothers, Tommy Overstreet & Doug Overstreet. Freddy is survived by two daughters, Barbara “Barbie” (Seth) Haynes of Georgetown, KY and Missy (Aaron) Sanders of Elkhorn City, KY; six grandchildren, Terry (Morgan) Haynes, Sarah (Chris) Watson, Isaiah Haynes, Luke James Aaron Sanders, Noah Dallas Sanders & Sadie Catherine Sanders; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Haynes & Claire Haynes. Freddy is also survived by three brothers, Jerry Overstreet & Mike Overstreet both of Elkhorn City, KY & Timmy Dale Overstreet of Ashcamp, KY and two sisters, Barb Wallace of NC and Delilah Allman of Elkhorn City, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-10PM Friday, October 02, 2020 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 03, 2020 at 1PM from the chapel with Larry Puckett, Phil Hines and others officiating. Burial will follow at Annie E Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY. The Elkhorn City DAV Chapter #140 will conduct Military Rites on Saturday.
