Vivian Doris Bowens, 75 of Elkhorn City, Ky. was born on Feb. 1, 1948 in Pikeville, Ky. and passed away at the Landmark of Elkhorn on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Vivian was a member of the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker. She is the daughter of Johnny Andrew and Roxie Reese Childers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Estil Ray Bowens, stepson; Curtis Lee Bowens, brothers; Benny, Bobby, Billy, Jackie, Dickie, Donnie, Larry and Gary, sisters; Nettie Beech, Joyce Spencer and Pamela Childers. Survivors are a son; William Estil Ray Bowens of Hellier, Ky. daughter; Jennifer Lynn Bowens of Hellier, Ky. sister; Anna Shepherd of Bluffton, In., grandchildren; Megan (Cody) Stiltner Taylor, Chris (Miranda) Bowens, Josh (Madison) Bowens, Joseph (Jadyn) Bowens, Dilon Mullins and Cody Bowens, great-grandchildren: Greyson, Milena, Gabe, Jaxon and Evelyn, a special sister-in-law; Jettie Childers and a daughter-in-law; Sharana Mitchell; son-in-law, Rick Mullins. Visitation will be in the Allegheny Freewill Baptist after 6:00 PM on Monday with services at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, 2:00 from the church with Ray Tackett, Oscar Damron and Jimmy Dean Looney officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, Ky.
