William Patton Potter, 77 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Thursday March 05, 2015 at Pikeville Medical Center.  William was born January 03, 1938 to the late Guy and Florence Sykes Potter.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jay E. Potter, two brothers, Percy & Atlas Potter, and four sisters; Audrey Newberry, Junilee Fletcher, Mildred Wallace, and Wanda Jo Warren.

William is survived by his wife, Bertha Williams Potter of Elkhorn City, KY two sons; Dewey (& Teresa) Potter of Elkhorn City, KY and Guy Wendell (& Heather) Potter of Christiansburg, VA, one daughter, DuRhonda (& Carter) Stacy of Elkhorn City, six grandchildren; Jennifer (& Jon) Quillen, Andrew Stacy, Guy Jordon Potter, Cody William Potter, Rachel Stacy and Miranda Potter, 3 great grandchildren; Madelyn Quillen, Christopher Quillen, and Blake Chaney, one sister-in-law, Ruby Hawkins, and 99 nieces and nephews.  William leaves behind many family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held Sat. march 07, 2015 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Elkhorn City, KY.  Friends may call after 6:00 pm.  Services will begin nightly at 7:00 pm with Scotty Adkins officiating.  The funeral will be conducted Monday March 09, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at John Potter Cemetery, Little Branch, Elkhorn City, KY.
