Thelma Gay Phillips, 65 of Statesville, NC passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Gordon Hospice Center. Thelma was born December 19, 1956 at Mouthcard, KY to the late Ballard Chaffins and Pauline Blankenship Chaffins. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by brothers, Tony, Eldon, Randall and Jeff Chaffins. Thelma is survived by her husband; Roger W. Phillips, two sons, Roger Junior Phillips and Keith Edward Phillips both of Hurley, VA and a daughter, Veronica Gay Phillips of Coeburn, VA. She is also survived by two brothers, Michael Ray Chaffins of Mouthcard, KY and Ballard Chaffins, Jr. of Harman, VA and six sisters, Carolyn Faye Chaffins, Sandra Taylor, Lydia Stiltner & Donita Stiltner all of Mouthcard, KY, Chris Chaffins of Vansant, VA and Evelyn Nadine Rodriguez of Statesville, NC. Visitation will be after 6PM Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Stateline Church of God with services nightly at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 12PM from the church with Jessie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Chaffins Cemetery, Mouthcard, KY.
