Janice Baker, 65

Janice Baker, 65 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Pikeville Medical Center. Janice was born June 26, 1955 at Grundy, VA to the late William Boyd Blankenship & Marie Mounts Stiltner. She was also blessed to be reared by, Junior Stiltner, who was like a father to her.

Janice was a homemaker. She loved friend & family phone calls no matter the hour. She loved her Grandkids- and she had their back no matter what. She looked forward to watching their favorite shows together. She loved being the host of sleepovers. She loved to stay up late playing Super-Nintendo. Jan always enjoyed a good vacation. On her last day with us, she said “I love the beach!”

Janice is survived by her husband, Estel Baker of Elkhorn City, KY; one son, Estel (Susan) Baker, Jr. of Lick Creek, KY; one daughter, Christy (Braxton) Smith of Pikeville, KY; six grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Sarah Morton, Isaiah Morton, Kyla Baker, Tyler Hensley & Teonna McNutt; and four great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Huffman, Avaleia Smith, Charlie Jarrell & Frankie Jarrell. Janice is also survived by one brother, Donnie Blankenship of Hurley, VA and two sisters, Becky Cartwright of Chilhowie, VA & Linda Stiltner of Richlands, VA.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1PM from the chapel with Jimmy Kerr officiating.
