I am so sorry to hear Tootsie passed away. I will always remember her short stature (like mine), that we laughed and joked about. The last time we visited her, when she was still at home, she commented about a gift I had given her for Christmas a few years before. She said, “I don’t know what I did all these years without a back brush.” LOL. I had given her a gift set from Bath and Body Works. At Christmas time Tootsie prepared homemade desserts that was always delicious. Another one of my childhood memories was Papaw Doug and Tootsie’s Christmas tree. It was HUGE (or it seemed like it then); it was to the ceiling (at least 12 feet or more) and decorated to perfection. Tootsie was my last living grandparent and I find it sad that she is gone too. I always thought of Tootsie when we would be visiting in Elkhorn, but would put off visiting to the next time we were in town. Sometimes ‘next time’ doesn’t come. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Tootsie was a very sweet lady and my step-grandmother for close to 50 years. May you rest in peace Tootsie.
