I met Conrad a few years ago while working at Southern Smoke BBQ near the Breaks. Immediately he became a dear friend to me. I will treasure our conversations about farming and bees and the ways of the world. I will remember him as the kind, generous, honest and Christian man who tipped me extra one day because I wanted to get a special gift for my daughter without dipping into my tips too much. It wasn’t necessary but he wanted her to have it and for me to not feel guilty for splurging. It sounds silly now that I am rereading this but it’s how I feel and remember him. Rest now dear friend and I pray for comfort and peace for your family and friends.

I worked with Conrad many yrs. ago during our years at Martin County Coal. I just saw him now and then when he came to the office. The guy had a large personality. If you had contact with Conrad you had your smile for the day. He was a hard worker and loved people. I know it was hard for him to retire, and we missed him once he decided to do so. He was someone who would stand up for what he felt was right or wrong and his heart was kind. Since he retired I have thought of him often, but never got to see him again. Thankful he found his church family and people who embraced him in his silver and golden times, and support from his loving family and grandkids. Will always remember the pointy toed cowboy boots we all looked out for in clogging class. Love you Conrad! My sympathy to family and friends. Hugs and prayers for all. He will truly be missed.

My prayers are going up for Larry and Sondra and the rest of the family. May the peace of knowing where he has gone bring you strength. I wish, so very much, that I could come and be there for you, but my health won’t permit it. I will remember his visits to me and Gerald with a smile. Conrad was a good man, I will remember him with love always. My love and prayers to all the family in this time of sorrow for us all!

I always loved to hear that Uncle Conrad was coming to town to see Mom and Dad cause I knew I would be able to see him while he was there. Uncle Conrad had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. The last time I saw him was at Dad’s funeral. He came all this way, even though he was sick and should have stayed home, to give his support and comfort to us and pay his respects to his brother. Uncle Conrad was an honorable man. Larry, Sondra and the rest of our family, I am very sorrow for this great loss. I take comfort in the fact that Uncle Conrad is now with my Dad and the rest of their family that preceded them. (Knowing those two, they probably talked Jesus into going fishin’) Take care Jones family and rest in the knowledge that the Lord was always Conrad’s sheperd, so he has his reward now. Love you all!

My prayers for my best friends, Larry and Sonda are spirallng upward even now. It is very, very difficult to lose a loving father and I believe Conrad to be that type of father. I remember him at the mines we worked at…I was always going over there to have some little thingamajig created or modified and Conrad would take it on the task for me and turn out something that absolutely fitted my needs. All the while working he would be talking to me and asking me about my dad in the mines. Conrad, you’ve run a good race and fought the good fight, and now may our God accept you into His loving arms. Larry and Sondra…love both of you and will be praying for you as well.
