Janice Rose Norman, 83

Janice Rose Norman, 83 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center. Janice was a retired cook from the Pike County Schools and member of the Lick Creek Holiness Church. Janice was born January 27, 1935 at Lick Creek, KY to the late William Ratliff and Gracie Fields Ratliff Abshire. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Norman, one brother, Teddy Abshire and two sisters, Billie Smith & Juanita Short. Janice is survived by two sons, Lloyd Norman & Elwood Norman, Jr. both of Elkhorn City, KY and three daughters, Ruth Ann Adkins, Barbara Kay Vanover & Wilma Sue Caudill all of Elkhorn City, KY; nine grandchildren, Lloyd Norman, Jr., Misty Adkins, Crystal Dills, Chad Norman, Matthew Adkins, Jonathan Vanover, Daniel Caudill, Michael Caudill & Cody Norman; and four great-grandchildren, Joseph Dills, Jacob Norman, Jeremiah Dills & Lucas Norman. Janice is also survived by one brother, Donald Abshire of Mouthcard, KY and four sisters, Omega Meade of Belcher, KY, Kathleen Ratliff of Elkhorn City, KY, Beverly Finch of Pikeville, KY and Eloise Thacker of Michigan. Visitation will be after 6PM Friday, February 9 & Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Lick Creek Holiness Church with services nightly at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2PM from the church with Ray Sayers, Plennie Gale Sawyers, Rick Fuller, Rick Sawyers & Chris Abshire officiating. Burial will follow at Dow Brooks Cemetery, Draffin, KY.

    Janice is my aunt! She was a fine lady! I pray for comfort for this precious family in their time of suffering! I know from my own experience how it feels to loose your precious mom,but know that you are not alone ! We all love you and offer our sympathy! I know that Janice will be with god along with her sister Juanita because they were both angels!
