Curtis N. Lester, 92

Curtis N. Lester, 92 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Dimondale Nursing Care Center. He was a member of the Ferrells Creek Church of Christ and a retired teacher. Curtis was born May 9, 1925 at Belcher, KY to the late Arden Lester & Bertha Looney Lester. Besides his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Marie Clevinger Lester, one son, Herman Lester, one grandson, Max Lester and six siblings, Lennice Damron, Lancer Lester, Dorothy Chaney, Dewey Lester, John Lester & Carl Lester. Curtis is survived by two daughters, Debbie (James) Branscum of Brighton, MI & Denise (Johnny) McHone of Elkhorn City, KY; five grandchildren, Holli Titus, Wes Lester, Vanessa Lester, Amy Stiltner & Marley Tribble; and three great-grandchildren, Paxton Titus, Carver Titus & Avery Tribble. Visitation will be from 6-10PM Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11AM from the chapel with Billy Ford officiating. Entombment will follow at the J.U. Thacker Mausoleum, Pikeville, KY.

    Mr. Lester was the best teacher I think I ever had. He was there to help and he did his job well. To his family I want send my condolences I am truly sorry and my prayers are with you all during this hard time. Mr. Lester may you rest in peace.

    Mr. Lester was my Sophomore homeroom teacher, nicest man as there ever was, always kind and smiling. Knew mom and his brother Carl. Curt and my dad were always big buddies. The world has definitely lost a good man.
