Debra Kay Swiney, 65

Debra Kay Swiney, 65 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was a substitute teacher and a member of the Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist for 43 years. Kay was born December 30, 1958 in Grundy, VA to Bobby Ray Belcher and the late Nancy Belle Adkins Belcher.

In addition to her father, Kay is survived by her husband, Tommy Swiney of Elkhorn City, KY; two sons, Issac (Verda) Swiney of Ashburn, VA, and Shawn (Jeanie) Swiney of West Liberty, KY; a daughter, Heather (Forest) Newsome of Hager Hill, KY; and six grandchildren, Noah Swiney, Shelby Arnett, Issac Swiney, Easton Sanders, Benjamin Swiney and Easton Newsome.

Kay is also survived by a brother, Rusty Belcher and a sister, Angie (Tommy) Mullins both of Elkhorn City, KY.

Visitation will be after 6PM Tuesday, April 02, and Wednesday, April 03, 2024 at the Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist Church with services nightly at 7PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 04, 2024 at 1PM from the church with Jerry Overstreet, Larry Puckett and Frank Ronnie Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at the Potter Cemetery, Little Beaver, Elkhorn City, KY.
