Carol Ratliff, 73 of Shelby Gap, Ky. was born on Nov. 8, 1949 in Pikeville, Ky. and passed away at the Pikeville Medical Center on Dec. 1, 2022. Carol is the daughter of the late Claude Lavern Ratliff and Ival Deloris Bartley Ratliff in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ricky and Terry. She was a homemaker. She is survived by sons; John Sanders of Pikeville and Casey Parker of Shelby Gap, sisters; Judy Slone of Rocky Road and Teresa Ratliff of Elkhorn City, 2 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Elkhorn Creek Independent Church at Ashcamp, Ky. after 6:00 on Sunday. Nightly service will be held at 7:00 with Garrett Tackett and Joey Lawson officiating. The funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 2:00. Burial will follow in the Bennie Tackett Cemetery at Ashcamp, Ky.
I was saddened by the news of the passing of another dear cousin. I hadn’t seen Carol in many years, but we were pretty close when we were youngsters. I would, on occasion, ask her sister Judy about her. My condolences to all the family.
