Lorene M. Owens, 80 of Elkhorn City, Ky. was born on May 25, 1940 and passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020. She was the daughter of General Miles and Mary Cline Belcher who preceded her in death. Lorene was a member of the Cedar Grove Regular Baptist Church and a machine operator at Arrow Pharmaceutical. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother; Gene Belcher, sisters; Juanita June Belcher, Lola Shuck and Loretta Stewart. Survivors are a son; Greg Owens of Charlotte, NC, daughters; Gwendolyn (Bobby Elswick) Potter of Elkhorn City, Ky. and Mary Lou(Chip) McPeek of Asheboro, NC., brother; Robert Belcher of Elkhorn City, Ky., sisters; Betty Salyers of Dandridge, Tn., and Anna Lee Setters of Lexington, Ky., grandchildren; Chelsey(Josh) McPeek , Courtney(Caleb) McPeek, John Daniel Potter and Megan R. Akers, great grandchildren; Brooklyn McCrary, Eli McCrary, Raelyn McLeod, Tamra Akers and Tagan Akers. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 1:00 with Jerry Overstreet and Larry Puckett officiating.
