Rosetta Hawkins, 74 of Ashcamp, Ky. was born on May 4, 1945 in Floyd County, Ky. to Bill Nelson and Mary Ellen Conn Nelson. She passed away at her home on Friday, July 26, 2019. Rosetta was a member of the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church and she was a beautician. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, a son; David, a brother; Taylor Nelson, sisters; Eula May Conley and Alafa(Charles) Mullins, and a sister-in-law; Charlene Nelson. Survivors are a son; Thomas Bruce (Missie) Hawkins of Chicago, deceased son; David’s wife; Robin Hawkins of Ashcamp, brothers; Thomas Ray (Earlene) Nelson of Prestonsburg, Ronnie Nelson of Banner, William Donald (Drema) of Banner, Paul Richard (Sondra) Nelson of Danville, Va., and Arthur Dean (Jeannie) Nelson of Banner, sisters; Dotty Gay (Doug) Layne of Harold, Betty (Gary) Newman of Grethel, and Rita Kay (Charles) Howell of Banner, grandchilddren; Robyn Ashley(Billy) Hawkins Tackett, David Mandrian Hawkins and Rosetta Susanne Hawkins, great grandchildren; Noah Wayne Tackett, Blake Ryan Tackett, and Natalie Brooklyn Hawkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church after 6:00PM on Saturday and funeral services will be at the church on Sunday at 12:00 with Van Swindall, Tommy England and Chad Wells officiating. An evening service at 7:00PM on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Roy Hawkins Cemetery at Ashcamp, Ky.
