Perry Neil Merritt, 57 of Elkhorn City, Ky. was born on Oct. 2, 1960 in Pikeville, Ky. to F. M. and Lonetta Rowe Merritt. Perry passed away at his home on Tuesday with his wife, son, family and friends by his side. He was the owner of T & T Trucking Company and a member of the Elkhorn City Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife; Stephanie Potter Merritt, son; Terence (Kasey) of Elkhorn City, 2 step sons; Aaron Ward and Adam Ward(Alyssa) both of Elkhorn City, sister; Debra Lynn Merritt of Dandridge, TN, and grandchildren; Teegan Neil Merritt, Sophia Kate Ward and Eli James Ward. Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00PM in the Original Bailey Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, 8:00Am-10PM on Friday from Bailey Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held on Saturday, 12:00 from the chapel with Dale Senters and Aaron Butler officiating.
So sorry to hear of Perry Neil’s passing I grew up and went to school with him and I counted him as a friend. May the Lords peace be with Lonetta, wife and families. Will be praying for you all.
My heart hurts so bad for u all that I cant put it into words. I pray that God can wrap his arms around you now and hopefully one day make peace with this.. Perry was a wonderful man, what you saw is what you got. He treated my kids like his own and they pretty much adopted him as their papaw…thank you stephanie for sharing him with the rest of us. He will be missed more than words can say. Love u!
My prayers go out to this family. Perry Neil was a friend of mine for life. What a blessing to have such fond memories of him. May god be with his wife, son and sister during the next few weeks.

Sad , I guess God needed a gravel truck driver . He was one in a million, didn’t care to lend a hand to a friend in need . So long driver see you in the big gravel pit in the sky. Rest easy my friend
