Herbert Hoover Lewis, 86 of Marrowbone passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home. Herbert was born November 26, 1931 at Allegheny to the late William Marion Lewis and Hattie Childers Lewis. In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by five siblings, Quentin Lewis, Eilene Hawkins, Anita Gale, Billie Branham & Mildred Collins. Herbert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Lou Mays Lewis of Marrowbone, KY: one son, Scotty Lewis of Marrowbone, KY; and one daughter, Kristie (Eddie) Crum of Pikeville, KY. Herbert is also survived by four grandchildren, Scottie Lewis, Blake Edward Crum, Bethanie Crum and Sylena Tackett and one great-grandchild, Kendall Tackett. Herbert was a retired coal miner of over 40 years and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a man of honesty and integrity. He will be greatly missed by his family. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 2-4PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.
