Ruey Mutter, 87

Ruey Mutter, 87 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home. Ruey was born on Oct. 17, 1930 at Island Creek of Levisa to the late Landon and Sarah Harrison Mutter. Ruey was a US Navy Korean War veteran, President of the local UMWA & retired coal miner of over 30 years. In addition to his parents, Ruey was preceded in death by brothers, Carmen “Bunk”, Zed, Carmel Carl and sisters, Helen, Aileen, Janie Bell and Ruby. Ruey is survived by his wife, Delois Jean Coleman Mutter of Elkhorn City, KY; son, Hank Mutter of Elkhorn City, KY; daughter, Jennie Mutter of Edgewater, FL; four grandchildren, Ruey Thomas Bentley, Kelley Michelle Foster, Anthony Landon Mutter & Christopher Carl Mutter; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Paige Foster & Gentri Cheyenne Foster. Ruey is also survived by one brother John Mutter of Denver, NC and sisters, Eunice Marie Mutter of Elkhorn City and Susie Mutter of Coon Creek, KY. Visitation will be from 7-10PM Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services conducted Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11AM from the chapel with Phoebe Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
