Donald Lee Matney, 72 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Donald was born on July 13, 1945 at Lick Creek, KY to the late Woodrow Wilson and Cordia Sawyers Matney. Donald was a member of the First Church of God in Elkhorn City, a US Army Veteran and a truck driver. Donald is survived by his wife Vada Ramey Matney of Elkhorn City, KY; a son, Donnie Matney of Lexington, KY; a daughter; Angela Lofton of Rayville, LA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Woodrow Wilson, II of Arkansas & three sisters, Shelia Miller of Feds Creek, Olive Thacker of Lick Creek and Wanda Matney of Winchester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Billy, Rodney Gene and an infant brother. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6-9PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7Pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 12:00 from the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Scotty Adkins, David Ramey and Kathy Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Dow Brooks Cemetery at Draffin, KY.

Vada, we are all sadden by Donald lee’s passing. We did not know the arrangements until today so we could not make it for visitation. Dad wanted to pay his respects because of the kindness that he showed him.
