George Swiney, 68

George Swiney, 68 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his residence. George was born May 10, 1949 at Grassy, VA to the late Adam & Elouise Swiney. Besides his parents George was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles & Doyle Swiney. George is survived by his wife, Lucille King Swiney of Elkhorn City, KY; two sons, George Swiney, Jr. and Glen Swiney both of Elkhorn City, KY; and one granddaughter, Gabriella Paige Swiney. George is also survived by one brother, Kermit Swiney and one sister, Helen Adkins both of Elkhorn City, KY. Visitation will be from 6-10PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1PM from the chapel with Allen Thacker & Bill Conley officiating. Burial will follow at the Trace Fork Cemetery, Trace Fork, KY.

    George has been a LONG time Family Friend as a matter of fact kinda like a part of the family he & my daddy were the best of friends…Donnie L Gibson(R.I.P.) also of Elkhorn creek. George was a real character always making ppl laugh & was kind to everyone who knew him. I just want to say to his two sons who I know well, George’s best friends is how he always described them also very kind ppl & characters like there father.. I know that they were inseparable the 3 of them.. Please know that you boys will be in my prayers and your mother as well who he also described as a great woman for putting up w/ him lol his words… W/ my deepest senserity I Love Y’all like family and just know that hes n God’s hands now…wat better place to be? I kno him an dad are looking down on us smiling and having the best of time like they always used to… Alot of really crazy & really Awesome memories were made at dads shop..glad that George was usually around to share them w/ my family, all there friends, & I !!!
