Bertha Francis Hunter Cool, 82 of Belcher, KY passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center. Bertha was born April 29, 1935 at Ivel, KY to the late Dave M. Hunter & Lavina Conn Hunter. Besides her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett Cool, step-children, Durward Cool, Sherwood Cool & Imal Hunt and brother, Dave Hunter. Bertha is survived by three step-daughters, Kathy Taylor, Glima Hall and Bea Smith all of Ashland, KY; nine step-grandchildren and sixteen step-great grandchildren. She also had a host of friends and neighbors who graciously & tirelessly assisted her. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 6-9PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11AM from the chapel with Billy Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Howard & Kathy Cool Taylor Scholarship Fund at Kentucky Christian University, 100 Academic Drive, Grayson, KY 41143.
So sorry to hear about Berthie. A very sweet lady, friend, old neighbor from Ivel and was actually our baby sitter, back in the day. “Berthie” as we called her was a wonderful person. She has left great memories with us! She spoiled us kids and sure could fry the best eggs! My sister is out of town and not sure I will be able to make it to her funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
