Riley “Rod” Akers, 56 of Lookout passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Pikeville Medical Center. Rod was born December 25, 1957 in Pike County, KY to the late John Curtis Akers & Christine Elam Akers. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William Roger Akers. Rod is survived by his wife, Judy Akers of Lookout, three daughters, Christina Goad of Rockhouse, KY, Carly Slone & Casey Coleman both of Lookout, KY, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Darlene Martin, Vera Jo Kiser, Ellen Anderson & Mert Feavel and four brothers, Johnny Akers, Andy Akers, Earnest Akers & Thomas Damron. Visitation will be after 6PM Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church with services nightly at 7PM. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 11:00AM from the church. Burial will follow at the Mill Branch Cemetery, Lookout, KY.
