Ervin E. Farmer, 87

Ervin E. Farmer, 87 of Harless Creek, KY passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Pikeville Medical Center. Ervin was born June 3, 1929 at Dunleary, KY to the late Cecil Farmer & Julie Ratliff Farmer. Besides his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by one grandson, Gary Brian Spears and three brothers, Edward, Clifford & Donald Farmer. Ervin is survived by his wife, Charleen Thacker Farmer of Harless Creek, KY; two sons, Robert (Brenda) Farmer of Harless Creek, KY & Blake (Tammy) Farmer of Garrett, KY and two daughters, Gail Justice and Kathy (Gary) Spears both of Harless Creek, KY; seven grandchildren, Dr. Todd Justice, Madeana Shell, Krista Bell, Evan Blake Farmer, Hannah Deaton & Robert Adam Farmer; ten great-grandchildren, Jordyn Taylor, Lexie Bell, Anthony Bell, Elizabeth Tyler Deaton, Shelby Justice, Andrew Justice, Lauren Coleman, Emma Kate Coleman, Gabriel Shell & Kaylee Shell and one great great granddaughter, Avery Taylor. Ervin is also survived by one brother, Miles Daniel (Jean)Farmer of Morristown, TN. Visitation will be from 6-10PM Friday, September 16 & Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2PM from the chapel with Old Regular Baptists Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at Annie E Young Cemetery, Shelbiana, KY.

    Mr. Farmer was one of the finest, kindest men I have ever met.
    He will be greatly missed, but he leaves a beautiful legacy to his family.

    So sorry for your loss! I have so many memories of Ervin when I was young, then to have his granddaughter as my daughter-n-law is a blessing. I’m thankful to have his book of poems. He left a great legacy. Keeping each of you in my prayers for comfort & peace. Sending love & prayers.
