Sybil Hackney, 86 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Pikeville Medical Center. Sybil was born December 6, 1929 at Dunleary, KY to the late Ted Belcher and Delia Mullins Belcher. Besides her parents Sybil was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Hackney, one son, Eddie Dean Hackney, two brothers, Ira Belcher & James “Bug” Belcher and two sisters, June Whittaker & Betty Owens. Sybil is survived by one son, Teddy (Gerene) Hackney of Rock Hill, SC, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Shelby (Tommy) Revere of Mechanicsville, VA. Visitation will be from 1-7PM Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Elkhorn City Baptist Church with Jason Johnson officiating. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 18, 2016 at 7PM from the church.
